Quote of the day

The only exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions, running down their friends, side-stepping responsibility, and pushing their luck!

Very excited!

We booked my mother to come and visit us and stay with the kids for about 4 nights so we can go away by ourselves :D I'm hoping we can go back to Arizona, that place was awesome!

Miguel is in the midst (finally!) of potty trainnig. We had had some success last summer but went on vacation and it all went to hell. But he is now very aware of his desire to be a big boy like daddy and not wear diapers. He wants to wear underwear all the time and we are on day 3 with only 1 minor accident.

Larisa might be getting her real violin today and she is just itching to have it in her hands. SHe looks so adorable practicing her violin things.

Miguel woke up 3 times last night :P and I'm tired, already.

So we start the countdown to fun time!!!

Noise, noise and more nois

Because my computer never wants to keep me guessing it's now decided to make a horrendously annoying, chirpy noise that goes on and on as long as the stupid thing is on. My karma must've been screwed up on my last birthday or something... why else would I get this lemon computer, humm... is there a lemon law for computers?

The girls are on spring break from dance and classes so we've been hanging at the house and I'm starting to get a bit bored of being home. I think we will go to Ft Smith tonight to buy me some supplements for working out. I'm using this workout drink before I exercise that Pat has been using and it's like 2 shots of expresso or something and man that stuff is goooodd, I feel like a million bucks when I take it and I've only used it for 2 days, that's probably the first sign that it's totally bad for me but I'll tell you what I get thru my workout like a big girl. :D

I have been listening to Shakira lately and love "Hips don't lie" and it's a super workout song.

I'm reading "Purity of Blood, a novel" by Arturo Peren-Reverte. It's a swashbuckling, Zorro style of book and it was a tad slow at first but it's picked up speed and it's pretty interesting.

Oh and Miguel is completly bucka** naked asleep on me, does this kid ever get cold? He is like a little furnace and hates to fall asleep dressed. It doesn't matter how much he is wearing on his way there, by the time he is asleep he has usually stripped of everything. Weird kid...

More Arizona

Here's a few extra's of the trip. The cute little bunnies were the reason for Larisa's reason to eat breakfast every morning. She really loved the wildlife.

Persistence

Here's a quote I liked this morning but I'm also adding one on persistence because my sweet daughter Larisa Sofia is the most persistence and determined and bull headed little 42 lb 7 year old I've ever known.

So here is my quote followed by one for Larisa:

We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.
~Anaïs Nin

The last week of January

Quote of the day:

Jack Palance: "Do you know what the secret of life is? One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and everything else don't mean shit."
Billy Crystal: "Yeah, but what's that one thing?"
Jack Palance: "That's what you've got to figure out."
~From the movie City Slickers

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was a really good family day for us. We went to Pinnacle Hills mall in Rogers, AR. We had it planned and we were all excited and as we drove there we noticed snow flurries, but we kept on and when we got there it was FREEZING!! So we went to Build-a-Bear first and the kids all got something, Larisa got the new Spring Bear, Miguel got their limited edition Groundhog that is too cute for words and very soft. Gabi got clothes for her leopard/cheetah animal she has. Then we went to Penney's, we bought Larisa a sweater, myself a coat with down (great deal from $200 to $44) and Miguel a stroller. After we all got much warmer thanks to the additional clothing, we then got to stroll around.

I had a good workout today and Pat and I went to lunch, we talked a bunch and now he is out getting the kids from the various sitters they got left with.

Hugs,

Friday is here...

much sooner than I expected.

I don't have much to say, but we did find a new wonderful sitter who is 21 so I feel good about her responsibility level. Her name is Christen. Very sweet and friendly girl.

Here's a quote:

One's suffering disappears when one lets oneself go, when one yields - even to sadness.

Monday is here

Let's start it off good

When I can look Life in the eyes,
Grown calm and very coldly wise,
Life will have given me the Truth,
And taken in exchange - my youth.

New quote

Although every man believes that his decisions and resolutions involve the most multifarious factors, in reality they are mere oscillation between flight and longing.

Quotes of the day

I'm full of quotes today...

We fail more often by timidity than by over-daring.

Is it the weather?

I'm feeling so introspective today, I just want to be quiet and think. Even the music I'm listening to makes me want to just ruminate... If you know me well you know that quiet and introspective is just not me.

Quote of the day:

To conquer without risk is
to triumph without glory.

Brrrr....

Boy it's cold around here!!

We got the tail end of the ice storm and we have a bit of snow and some ice too. It's going to get cold around here supposedly around 13 degrees tonight, with windchill in the single digits.

Some good friends are opening a lovely coffee shop in town and today it's supposed to be their first day opening the drive-thru, we will go later (if our road is driveable) and get some good coffee! Yuummm!!!

Gabi needs to catch up on school work today since last week we got behind due to all the doctor things and other stuff we had to do.

Pat is going to go run in the snow/sleet/ice and we took a picture of him for posterity. It's way cold out there. I'm posting a picture of him.

Wow

This week has been a major doozy!!

Girl scouts, dance, surgery, dentists, doctor again, violin, dance, doctor AGAIN... I'm looking forward to a boring week of just normal stuff.

Miguel is healing wonderfully after having to go back to the doctor and get retaped because he ripped out the glue holding his incision together. Thankfully the cut was already healing and didn't separate. The doctor did a supreme job and the wound is just beautiful very small and clean. I'm very pleased.

I've been checking the weather and our area is right on the border of this major ice storm that is hitting Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas this weekend. I hope it doesn't decide to move south, I'd really hate to be stuck in the house a whole weekend, or really I don't mind staying home but the storm is supposed to be NASTY and I don't want to live like a hermit for the weekend with the kids, when they get bored it's ugly.

Today is the first day that we are not going anywhere in the day time unless I decide to shop for food in case this storm does decide to travel our way. It's a good thing I'm hanging out here becuase I have about 87 loads of laundry to do. I wish laundry was self sufficient and I was like bewitched and could wriggle my nose and move on and not have to sort, move, load, fold, hang, take to rooms.... blech....

Ok, I'm going to go scrapbook while the children snore, yep I'm scrapbooking at 5:37 am or else nobody leaves me alone and they want my scissors or glue or this or that....
